Does my 50 inch Hitachi Plasma enjoy progressive scan?
Currently purchased a Hitachi - Ultravision 50" 1080i Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV. I have a Phillips DVD HDMI converter dvd recorder and I be wondering how I can tell if the tv supports the progressive scan mode of my dvd player? Also I be wondering if this TV is really 1080i because I have read some reviews and some individuals noted that it was a misprint and that it really is 1080p. How can I notify? I looked in the guide and didn't see anything regarding that. Finally, what is the best HDMI setting to put my dvd player on to correlate beside the tv. Thanks-Theater Rookie!

I have a Onkyo HR800 system and I want a blu gleam player but Im confussed about the HD audio formats, because some of the players can decipher the HD audio can my reciver put it back out or does the addressee also have to be HD audio compatible? Dts Hd Master Audio?
Hello my set up consists of the onkyo SR605 receiver the kef 3005se speakers and 1080p lcd. hdmi cable connected from blu ray player and ps3 to amp later hdmi out to tv. The problem i have is i can not select dts hd master audio on the amp. I own fantastic 4 rise of the silver surfer which has dts hd master audio capabilites but not sure how to catch the amp to decode it. If anyone can administer me a step by step in to getting this to work would really appreciate it.. Do i have need of to use a 7.1 speaker set up or can i use 5.1 to obtain the dts hd m/a setting...Please facilitate! Thanks
DTS through HDMI??
I have an HDMI cable going form my dvd player to my TV, I hold an optical cable going from my tv's optical out to my stereo's optical in. everything is DTS certified will this set up deliver the dts signal from my dvd player through my tv to my beneficiary?

I am finally "updating" my home TV system to a Digital model. I am able to buy a DTV converter that I am to route to my analog TV. Do the Digital TV's receive Digital signal, so I will not involve this DTV converter - or will I need this converter box next to a new Digital TV set? Distortion Coming Out of External Speakers? Please Help?
Hi, i have a beautiful 32" westinghouse tv, with external speakers hooked up to it. they're just shelf speakers that are connected to the aiwa amp. Although the sound comes out of my external speakers, there is so much distortion coming out, even at low volume.
P.s. They are connected with rca'a from the amp to the tv

Sorry we need more information to be able to help you properly Model nu of the aiwa amp, speakers, Tv and how you have it hooked up.
You say you have it hooked up from the tv to the amp to the speakers but how ?
Now I can take a stab at it here as you have the TV audio outputs going into your amplifier. Is the Aiwa a receiver ? are you coming off a variable output of the TV to a receiver ? If this is the case and you set your volume on your TV to high it will overdrive the inputs of the receiver and cause distortion. Receiver line inputs like to see a fixed line input of 1 to 1.5 volts anything above that and your could be over-driving the inputs causing distortion. If this is a receiver then you want to come off the TV's fixed line outputs to a receiver and vary the level with the receivers volume control.
