What is GFCI?
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter or GFCI is normally an outlet but with a red reset button and blue test button. Circuit breakers have the advantage over fuses that it can be reset without having to be replaced. When a fuse burns out, it's done, like an incandescent light bulb. Fuses are still used in electronic devices, probably because they are cheaper and shouldn't burn out anyway.
Circuit breakers and fuses break the circuit on too much current, but a GFI works differently. A GFI senses a difference in current between the big prong and the little prong. If they are not equal, then some current must be going to the ground prong, which indicates a problem with something you plugged in.
