TGEG SHOWS SUPPORT TO TREE 500 MOVEMENT, REFORESTATION OF MARIKINA WATERSHED
True Green Energy Group (TGEG), promoters of world power and green technologies and the first and only green technology company in the Philippines that is rapidly expanding in the green energy industry signed up last October 23, 2010 with Tree 500 Movement for the reforestation of Marikina Water Shed. Metro Manila was flooded last year in September and the main cause of the floods was the Marikina Water Shed. This exactly why the tree planting activity that occured at Calawis Bridge as one of the water systems at Marikina Water Shed which had been completely destroyed during the storm "Ondoy;" is timely. Consequently, it is one of the water systems which need rehabilitation to salvage the forests surrounding the dams in Marikina and to protect those who are living around the area. Company delegates were TGEG Corporate President Chariza Lazaro and Corporate President Asst. Maria Luna Albofera.
Such a worthy tree planting advocacy from Tree 500 Movement is guided by EX-LINKEVENTS. Responding to the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF) memorandum of cooperation in reforesting the Marikina Water Shed to help thwart tragic dreadful floodings and increase the water supply for nearby areas and Metro Manila which had begun last August 28, 2010. The target of this group is to plant five hundred trees every three months. Upon reforesting Marikina Water Shed its total capability to hold water from rain is increased so it lessens the possibility of deluge and at the same time expanding the capacity of water storage for the Metro area. This sponsorship campaign's purpose is to try to rebuild a green Marikina Water Shed like it used to be likewise to inspire and prompt, to support and persuade and to sustain enterprises, companies and individuals to become members and collaborators in becoming responsible in protecting the environment.
Tree planting is but just one measure to reduce the effects of global warming apparently experienced in the form of water shortages, drought and flooding. Before these environmental impacts get out of hand, we must dedicate and invest our time, knowledge and expertise in conserving our dear mother earth.
Marikina Watershed's reforestation is an international and multi-sectoral cooperation initiated by the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF) which is the private sector partner of the Special National Public-Private Reconstruction Commission produced by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as a result of last year's destructive storms. Manuel Pangilinan of PLDT is in charge as Chairman and is co-chaired by Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal.
Public sector partners in this PDRF program are the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Antipolo City Government, the Marikina Watershed Protected Area Management Board and the National Power Corporation.
Other private associations that are green life allies include the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, Smart Communications, Inc., the PLDT-Smart Foundation, Manila Water, Earth Day Network Philippines, Education for Life Foundation, Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE), Fostering People's Education, Empowerment and Enterprise(FPE3), Meralco, UCPB Foundation, Sagip Sierra Madre Environmental Society, League of Corporate Foundations, Kalingap Marikina Watershed, the Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation (PTFCF), the Philippine Business for Social Progress(PBSP), the Manila Electric Company, Haribon Foundation, UCPB Foundation, Education For Life, True Development Foundation, Inc., Mga Anak ni Inang Daigdig, the Diocese of Antipolo, the local government unit of Antipolo City and the communities of Barangay Calawis and Barangay San Jose.
Renewal of nature's grandeur is possible with the biosphere technology offered by TGEG's green technology solutions. Wastes from landfills are transformed into green energy through the gasification process by its biosphere machine in 1500 Material Recycling Facilities within a decade. Ronald Flynn who leads this breakthrough in green technology is a prolific environmentalist and philanthropist.
