The Musical History Of Naim Audio
The British manufacturer produces high produces a number of audio products for domestic use; products of high musical fidelity. It was in 1969, that the late Julian Vereker started the Naim Audio Visual and thus began the odyssey of Naim. The humble beginnings were sound in a light box which was then hired out to companies in film production. The products have since shared shelf life with competition in the names of cyrus audio, Musical Fidelity, Quad Audio and other top notch audio maestros. The increasing demand for Naim Audio products has been attributed to the great after sales service.
Julian Vereker designed his own power amplifier when he was disappointed with the then available sound of professional equipment used for recording. It was in 1973 that the company Naim Audio was incorporated. Through a combination of after sales philosophy, up-gradations, quality structural architecture and performance of the products Naim Audio today enjoys a devoted fan following.

The company has been enjoying a boom with the increasing demand for Naim Audio products the world over. For all products ever manufactured by the company, Naim is committed to its after sales support for all. In 1971, the NAP 160, which was the first Naim power amplifier, made it to the market. In 1975 the two channel, NAP 250 amplifier was sold, perhaps one of the most well known products. The success was attributed to the fact that all the company's power amplifiers shared a quality circuit layout.
There are a number of other Naim products like the SBL - Separate Box Loudspeaker, the ARO uni-pivot tonearm which according to many patrons has assumed cult status. As compared to the vinyl gramophone record, Naim asserted the Compact Disc as a far better medium, during much of the 1980s. As compared to vinyl, the discs that were available earlier often lost a little in transfer mode and keeping this in mind, Naim continued to upgrade.
The first CD player, the Naim CDS, created a brand out of the company and was produced with the technological advances far beyond what was available in the 1990s. Major revisions have been seen by the CDS CD player since its launch. Subsequent extensions to the line that are lower priced are often used by hi-fi reviewers. Heralded by Naim is the CD 555, the ultimate CD player which is the ‘money no object' flagship that comes at a neat price.

To ensure generous and fast current delivery to the audio circuitry, the design philosophy of Naim is characterized by the incorporation of power supplies that are over engineered. As an effective and easy upgrade path for CD players and pre-amplifiers, the company also markets independent power supplies with low noise and higher audio power.
Also reasons for the increasing demand of Naim Audio products are use of materials like the iconoclastic solid aluminum black cases, toroidal transformers that are heavy, semiconductors and a unique design approach. Obsessive attention to screening, earthing and isolation from the interference of electronics, through to their preference for DIN, XLR connector and the BNC Connector are also indicative of the unique design approach. In addition to DIN plugs on most of the products from Naim, RCA phono plugs are now fitted as standard bowing to market forces.

i am not sure what the cdi is
The ecu is going down, can't control the air - fuel - cdi. But first, check the cdi. What you mention is the sympthon of missfiring.
