Is a rapid start electronic ballast(t8) suitable for dimming?
is it the same as a programmed start electronic ballast? pulled about 50 out of older fixtures and i want to reuse them, so can i use them with a dimmer of the appropriate wattage?
Only if they have the word 
immable" on them from the factory.
And the chances of that are slim as they do cost a lot more than standard ballasts.
