Will this kind of thing damage my stereo speakers?
It was only static from the radio nothing else. The radio station was tuned in good nothing else the speakers are vintage 1987 made by HH Scott circuit breaker protected 15 inch woofers 150 watts RMS the stereo receiver is 120 watts RMS Kenwood 107VR
Probably not unless you had the volume maxed out for an extended period of time. Any easy way to test the speakers is to play music through them and listen to each speaker - woofer - midrange - tweeter. Put your ear up close to each one on each speaker - if you hear sound coming from all of them, they are ok.
