What's printed circuit board?

Design:

Where can I get used circuit boards?
I'm looking for used circuit boards of all shapes and sizes, but don't know where to find them. Ones that don't work anymore and are going to be thrown away (recycled) are favorable. Any ideas?
small or family-owned computer stores..... thats the best i can come up with....
