I need help troubleshooting dryer problem...it's not working right.?
I have a White Westinghouse clothes dryer about 15 years old. Something is causing it to take between 2 and 3 cycles before it will dry clothes, as opposed to what should just be one cycle. When I turn it on, it heats up, which makes me think there is nothing wrong with the heating element.
I have checked the vent hose from the dryer to the wall and there is no lint buildup or blockage of any kind. I'm thinking it would be either the thermostat or thermal cutoff, causing the dryer to only run the heating element for a certain amount of time and then it's causing it to kick off while the dryer is still running.
Does anyone know what that sounds like? Any ideas...suggestions?

you did not mention whether it is a gas dryer or electric...
I can't detirmine the cause with the limited info you provided...
it could be gas-supply problems, bad igniters, defective thermostat, failed heating coil, thermo-coupler, etc....
